Imagem digerida

Este trabalho se constitui de um processo em cadeia com nove participantes, iniciado por mim, quando digitalizei um retrato meu, de tamanho 5 x 7 cm, e depois imprimi esta foto digitalizada. A seguir, esta impressão foi entregue a uma outra pessoa, para que repetisse o processo. O resultado da digitalização/impressão deste segundo participante foi passado para um terceiro, e assim sucessivamente.

O meu retrato foi gradualmente sendo digerido / regurgitado, não só eletronicamente, pelas máquinas, mas também pelas pessoas que participam do processo, pois ao realizarem a digitalização e a impressão, acabam intervindo no resultado, ao buscarem a "melhor impressão possível" (um dado por si só subjetivo e pessoal), ou que a "cópia" fique igual ao "original".

Digested image

This work constitutes of a chain process with nine participants, initiated by the artist, who digitized a picture of his own face, and then had it printed. Later, this printed image has been given to a second person, and this person has been asked to repeat the same process. The resulting image of the digitizing and printing of this second participant has been given to a third one, and so forth.

The picture of the artist has been gradually digested / regurgitated, not only electronically, by the machines, but also by the persons who joined the process, because when they digitized and printed the picture, they end up intervening in the result. They’ve been asked to try to get the "best reproduction" they could (a subjective and personal notion itself); that the "copy" should be equal to the "original".
