Persona - 123 pessoas inexistentes

Nesta instalação, apresentou-se 123 fotografias de pessoas inexistentes, compostas a partir da fusão fenotípica digital de rostos de pessoas existentes anônimas. Não se trata aqui de uma simples colagem; todas as características dos rostos foram matematicamente processados, de forma que o rosto inexistente resultante era a média aritmética dos rostos existentes originais.

As fotos foram afixadas diretamente sobre a parede, ficando cada rosto exatamente na altura da cabeça do artista. A seqüência de rostos cobria inteiramente todas as paredes da galeria, ficando o expectador totalmente cercado pelos retratos das pessoas inexistentes.

Persona - 123 Non-existing People

In this installation, 123 photographs of non-existing people were shown. These photos were created through a process of digital phenotypic fusion of photos of faces of anonymous existing people. This process is not just a photo-collage; every single characteristic of the faces had been mathematically processed. The resultant non-existing face is the arithmetic average of the original existing faces.

The photos had been affixed directly to the wall, each face was exactly at the same height of the head of the artist. The sequence of faces entirely covered all the walls of the gallery. The visitor was totally surrounded by the photos of the non-existing people.
