série Malhas Urbanas

Malhas Urbanas é uma série de mapas, feitos a partir de uma camiseta turística comprada em cidades que visitei, daquelas vendidas em bancas e lojas como souvenir de viagem, onde normalmente há atrações turísticas ou outras imagens alusivas à cidade impressas na frente.

Estas camisetas foram usadas normalmente nas cidades onde foram compradas. Ao final de cada viagem, usando um mapa completo de cada cidade como referência, eu recortei a estampa da camiseta na forma dos vários distritos da cidade, que foram então colados na malha das costas da mesma camiseta, reconstituindo aquele mapa.

Urban Fabric series

Urban Fabric is a series of maps, made of a tourist t-shirt bought in cities that I've been travelling, at souvenir stores. Those t-shirts usually had tourist attractions, monuments, or other allusive images to the city printed in the front.

These t-shirts had been normally used in the cities where they had been bought. After each trip, using a complete map of each city as a reference, I had cut the print of the t-shirt in the form of the several districts of that city, wich had been glued on the fabric of the back of the same t-shirt, reconstituting the map of the city.
